There are many residential communities for seniors, each offering facilities and programs designed for members of our older generation who want to remain active. But one that’s worthy of a special mention is Judson Manor, which is located in the cultural epicenter of Cleveland, Ohio.
With many residential music lovers, enriching arts programs are in high demand at Judson. To fulfill that demand, the community created the Artist-in-Residence program, where a select group of student musicians from the Cleveland Institute of Music are offered furnished apartments at Judson Manor in exchange for performing monthly concerts.
Stretching beyond the musical aspect, the program benefits both the residents and students by encouraging interaction and companionship across the generations. I was fortunate enough to speak with resident Laura Berick, and musician Tiffany Tieu, who have forged a particularly close friendship.
